Behentrimonium Methosulfate (BTMS) is a non-sulfate, derived from rapeseed oil. Prized for its effective detangling abilities, it's able to penetrate the hair shaft making it an excellent moisturizer and conditioner, while remaining gentle on the hair and skin, without coating the scalp or causing buildup .
Is Behentrimonium Methosulfate (BTMS 81646 -13-1) bad for hair?
Behentrimonium methosulfate (BTMS 81646-13-1) does not cause buildup, and is non-irritating to the scalp. It is a great cowashing ingredient, conditioner, and is actually derived from something you probably have in your kitchen .
Behentrimonium methosulfate (BTMS 81646-13-1) is a cationic surfactant (an ingredient used in fabric softeners and antimicrobial agents), and a popular ingredient in cleansing shampoos. It also works great at controlling static electricity in the hair.
BTMS (Behentrimonium Methosulfate 81646-13-1) is a conditioning quat functionally identical to BTAC (Behentrimonium Chloride). Both are frequently used in hair repair.
Applications
